Software development for Nigerian businesses, built on local payment rails

We build POS, HR and payroll, school, logistics and lending systems for Nigerian businesses, integrated with Paystack, Flutterwave, Interswitch or Monnify and priced in a fixed quote before any work starts. You own the source code and the data.

The short answer

Growth Informer Software Services builds custom software for Nigerian businesses: POS and inventory, HR and payroll, school management, logistics and lending systems, plus Android and iOS apps for customers, riders and staff. Every amount is kept in naira and kobo, payments run through Paystack, Flutterwave, Interswitch or Monnify, and BVN checks go through the iGree consent step where your workflow needs them. We deliver remotely from Kampala, Uganda, two hours ahead of Lagos.

You get a fixed quote before work starts, pay on a 50/25/25 plan, and own the source code and the data at the end. We have 37 live website and app builds behind us and run our own products, including Growth Informer Business, a live cloud POS and inventory platform, and Moyo Pay, a dual-currency wallet on a double-entry ledger. If a subscription tool already fits how you work, we will tell you to use it instead.

Know which system your business needs?Send us on WhatsApp the system you need, how many branches and users it serves, the gateway you use or plan to use, whether you need BVN or NIN checks, which screens must work offline, and your target launch date. We reply with any questions, then a fixed quote.

The systems Nigerian businesses ask us to build

Each of these builds has a Nigerian detail that a generic template gets wrong. This is what we scope for each one.

POS and inventory

Multi-branch sales, stock transfers between locations, purchase orders, supplier balances and end-of-day cash-up by cashier. Each sale records how it was paid, whether cash, card on a POS terminal, bank transfer or USSD, so the till and the bank statement agree. If you are VAT-registered, plan for e-invoicing now: the Nigeria Revenue Service is rolling out its Merchant Buyer Solution by turnover band, with medium taxpayers going live from July 2026 and smaller businesses from July 2027, so we keep invoice data structured and scope that connection at the start instead of bolting it on later. Sales, stock and branch cash-up are what our own Growth Informer Business platform handles every day.

HR and payroll

Staff records, leave, attendance, salary advances and payslips, with statutory deductions set up as rules your accountant confirms rather than numbers buried in code. Two examples of why that matters: the Pension Reform Act 2014 sets minimum contributions of 8 percent from the employee and 10 percent from the employer on basic pay, housing and transport, and the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 changed PAYE from 1 January 2026, taxing the first 800,000 naira of annual income at zero with rates rising to 25 percent. When rules like these change, you update a settings table, not the code. Approved salaries can be paid out through your gateway's transfer feature where your account has it enabled. Our custom HRM software development page lists the full set of modules.

School management

Admissions, class lists, continuous assessment and exam scores weighted the way your school sets them, term results, report cards and a parent portal. Fees are billed per term with part payments and sibling discounts, and each pupil can get a dedicated account number through Paystack or Monnify, so a parent's transfer lands against the right child and the bursar stops matching teller slips by hand. See school management system development for the full module list.

Logistics and delivery

Order intake, rider assignment, delivery status, and proof of delivery with a photo and the recipient's name. Cash and transfers collected on delivery are reconciled per rider at the end of each day, and a transfer only counts once your gateway or bank confirms it, not when a customer shows the rider an alert on their phone. The rider app queues updates through dead zones and syncs when signal returns.

Lending

Loan origination, BVN and NIN checks, repayment schedules, collections by transfer, card or dedicated account number, penalties and portfolio reports, all on a double-entry ledger, the approach behind Moyo Pay. If you lend to consumers through an app or online, the FCCPC's Digital, Electronic, Online, or Non-Traditional Consumer Lending Regulations 2025 require its approval before you offer loans; the software records your disclosures and consents, but it does not replace that approval. We have not yet shipped a production loan system for a lending client, and we say so up front. See loan management software for Nigeria for how we approach it.

Wired to Nigerian payment rails and identity checks

A system that cannot take money the way your customers pay is a spreadsheet with a login. These are the rails we integrate, and the limits we check before quoting.

  • Gateways: Paystack, Flutterwave, Interswitch and Monnify for cards, bank transfers and USSD, depending on what your merchant account has enabled.
  • Dedicated account numbers: each customer, pupil or borrower gets a permanent account number, so any transfer reconciles without anyone reading narrations. Monnify calls these reserved accounts. Paystack's dedicated virtual accounts are only available to registered Nigerian businesses that have completed its go-live process, which matters if your company is registered outside Nigeria.
  • Wallets: many customers keep money in OPay, PalmPay, MTN's MoMo PSB or Airtel's SmartCash PSB. OPay offers merchants a checkout API we can connect directly; customers of the others usually pay by transfer from the wallet app to your account number, and the system matches it.
  • Webhooks and reconciliation: every payment is confirmed on the server, recorded once even if the gateway notifies twice, and matched to an invoice, sale, school fee or loan.
  • Naira handled properly: amounts are stored in kobo as whole numbers, never as floating point values, so totals and reports balance to the last kobo.

Our payment gateway integration services page covers the integration work in more detail.

BVN and NIN verification

For lending, staff onboarding or high-value accounts, we add identity checks through a verification provider your business holds an account with. BVN lookups go through iGree, the consent platform NIBSS runs under a CBN directive, where the customer approves access with a one-time code. NIN checks run through NIMC's verification service or a provider NIMC has licensed. The system stores the result and the consent record, and shows identity data only to staff who need it, because the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 applies to everything you collect and a breach has to be reported to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours. Meeting those obligations stays with you as the operator; our job is to build the controls that make it practical.

Built for patchy network and power cuts

Mobile data costs money, signal drops inside markets and warehouses, and power can go off mid-shift. The software has to expect that instead of failing on it.

  • Offline tills and rider apps: sales, stock movements and deliveries are saved on the device and synced when the connection returns, with rules for stock clashes and a check that stops the same record posting twice.
  • Transfers stay pending until confirmed: a cash sale can complete without signal, but a transfer sale is marked unconfirmed until the gateway or bank confirms it, so staff never release goods against a screenshot or a forwarded alert.
  • Light on data: compressed pages and images, so staff on mobile data are not waiting for heavy screens or paying for them.
  • Android first: cashiers and riders usually carry Android phones and tablets, so we test there first, then on iOS where your customers need it.
  • Nothing lost when power goes: work saves as it happens, so a phone that dies or a till that shuts down during a generator switchover picks up where it stopped.

The trade-off: offline mode adds design and testing work, so we build it only into the screens that must keep running without signal, not the whole system. Your quote names exactly which screens those are.

What custom software costs

The ranges below are shown in US dollars for your region. Every project then gets a fixed quote once we understand the scope, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay unless you add to the scope.

Price ranges for common builds for Nigerian businesses
What you needOur price rangeTypically includes
POS and inventory systemSales, stock, branches, cashier cash-up and gateway payments
HR and payroll systemStaff records, leave, pension and PAYE rules, payslips
Lending and loan management systemOrigination, BVN checks, repayment schedules, collections and portfolio reports
School, logistics or other custom systemBuilt around your workflow, user roles and approval steps
Payment gateway integrationPaystack, Flutterwave, Interswitch or Monnify with dedicated accounts, webhooks and reconciliation
Android and iOS appCustomer, rider or staff app connected to your system

What moves the price: the number of branches and user roles, how many payment and verification integrations you need, which screens must work offline, and whether a mobile app sits alongside the web system. Gateway transaction fees and per-check verification fees are charged by those providers directly and are separate from our price. Payment is split 50/25/25. For a rough figure before you message us, try the software project cost calculator, and see our custom software development services for how we scope and run builds.

If a date is already pushing you, such as payroll still calculated on the pre-2026 PAYE bands or your e-invoicing go-live, send us the scope now. The fixed quote comes before any payment, so asking for one costs you a conversation.

When you should not build custom

Custom software is the right call when your process is your advantage, or when off-the-shelf tools force workarounds that cost your staff hours every week. It is the wrong call in these cases:

  • You run one shop with simple stock. A subscription POS will do the job for far less until you add branches or need your own integrations.
  • Your gateway dashboard already covers collections. If Paystack or Flutterwave payment pages and reports give you what you need, a custom portal adds cost without adding control.
  • Your process is not settled yet. Software locks in a workflow. If you are still changing approvals, pricing or loan products month to month, run it manually first, then build.
  • Payroll for a small, simple team. A subscription payroll tool that already applies the 2026 PAYE bands and pension deductions is usually cheaper, unless pay ties into attendance, commissions or staff loans you manage yourself.

If one of these describes you, we will say so in the first conversation rather than quote a build you do not need.

Working with a Kampala team from Nigeria

If you are weighing a software company in Nigeria against a remote team, here is the honest picture. We are not based in Lagos or Abuja and do not pretend to be. We deliver remotely from Kampala, two hours ahead of Lagos, so most of our working day overlaps yours, and scoping, demos and progress updates happen over WhatsApp and video calls.

  • Your accounts stay in your name: your Nigerian business opens the Paystack, Flutterwave, Monnify or verification provider account and we integrate with it, so settlements go straight to you.
  • Fixed quote before work starts, so the budget is agreed before a line of code is written.
  • 50/25/25 payment plan instead of the full amount up front.
  • You own the source code and data, so you are not locked into us for hosting or future changes.
  • Products we run ourselves: Growth Informer Business, our live cloud POS, inventory and business platform; Moyo Pay, a dual-currency wallet on a double-entry ledger with Mobile Money and USSD; and Karibu, a travel SaaS.
  • 37 live website and app builds you can check on our portfolio.

Frequently asked questions

How much does software development cost for a Nigerian business?

A custom business system typically falls in the range , shown in US dollars for your region. POS, payroll and lending systems have their own ranges in the price table on this page. You get a fixed quote before work starts, pay on a 50/25/25 plan and own the source code and data at the end.

Can you build software for a Nigerian company from Kampala?

Yes. We work remotely from Kampala, two hours ahead of Lagos, and run scoping, demos and updates over WhatsApp and video calls. Your gateway and verification accounts are opened in your company's name, and the software is built around naira, Nigerian gateways and local identity checks.

Can the system accept payments through Paystack, Flutterwave, OPay or PalmPay?

Yes. We integrate Paystack, Flutterwave, Interswitch and Monnify, and OPay's merchant checkout where you hold an OPay merchant account. Customers who keep money in PalmPay, MoMo PSB or SmartCash PSB can pay by transfer to a dedicated account number, and the system matches the payment automatically. We confirm the route for your accounts before quoting.

Do you add BVN and NIN verification?

Where your workflow needs it, yes. BVN lookups go through the NIBSS iGree consent step, and NIN checks go through NIMC's verification service or a NIMC-licensed provider your business contracts with. The system records results and consent and limits who sees identity data. Meeting KYC and Nigeria Data Protection Act obligations remains your responsibility as the operator.

Will the payroll handle the 2026 PAYE changes?

Yes. PAYE bands, reliefs and pension rates are stored as settings your accountant confirms, so the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 bands that took effect on 1 January 2026 are configured at launch and a future change is a settings update, not a rebuild.
