A CDN keeps a copy of your site close to your visitors, so a site hosted abroad still loads fast in Kampala.
Local hosting has its place: local support in your timezone and easy .ug domain management. What matters most is not the flag on the server, but three things: uptime (does it stay online), speed on mobile (does it load fast on a cheap phone), and real support (can you reach a human when something breaks).
Hosting costs in Kenya, Tanzania & Rwanda
Hosting is priced in USD by most providers, so the cost is similar across East Africa once converted.
